8 Questions & Answers that will explain everything. Why 8? Because that’s all we had time for.

Sabrina Norrie is an unschooling and worldschooling mama, all about empowering families to follow the path in life that really speaks to them. For her family it’s all about slow living, playful days and adventurous travel. As co-founder of Forest School For All, Sabrina helps  build communities of families who want to play in nature year round, empower families to take part in outdoor activities and to encourage all to follow the lead of our children, with the forest and other natural settings as their outdoor classroom.

Sabrina Norrie, Co-founder of Forest School For All, you have 24 Hours To Live! (And by live, we mean you somehow finagled to get away and get 24 hours of kid-free, no responsibilities, me-time!)

1: You have 20 bucks in your pocket. What will you do with it?
There’s $20 bucks in my pocket?! I must not have worn those jeans for a really long time. So, get this, the last time I had a $20 in cash it actually went to a dance class. How fun to be able to say that and not something more mundane like my regular round of library fines (yes, somehow I’ve had $20 in library fines…more than once). I can’t wait to go back, so dancing it is.
2: What will you be wearing?
My everyday getup, which includes what I now call my Dubai pants (these funky Aladdin-looking cloth pants my sister just gifted me from her recent trip there, from which I can’t seem to ever part. I want to gift everyone a pair of these pants.), as well as my white tank, gray cardigan and knitted neck cowl. You might be wondering how I can possibly have an everyday getup and also find time to wash said getup. Ahem.
3: During this 24 hour period, you have to complete a challenge – Would You Rather eat chicken McNuggets for 1 full hour (no dipping sauce), OR, make out with a live chicken for 10 seconds? Why?
Ooh. Interesting. In another lifetime, maybe say the second book in the series of my life I was a sucker for all things fast food. Man, does that feel like eons ago. Now, thanks to homesteading friends I’m much more likely to be found near a live chicken than a McDonalds. Was actually just holding one yesterday. So, let’s give it a whirl and take things to the next level, as long as the chicken’s down.
4: What are the Top 5 things you’ll want to have with you?
 1. Yoga mat. 2 / 3. The two books I’m reading – Women Who Run With the Wolves and Animal, Vegetable, Miracle (see, I couldn’t do the McNuggets while reading that!), 3. Camera 4. Knitting and 5. Spotify playlist. (Cue eye rolling from family in answer #8)
5: What will you be drinking?
Water, tea and bourbon. I was going to say not all at the same time, but that’s been known to happen. Just not in the same glass.
6: What Game Of Thrones character would you do, and why?
Would I do? Or be? I’ll answer be. As a mama, it can sometimes feel like I’m already a little Hodor-esque. Carrying people, things, people. All the time. But I like the idea of being the Mother of Dragons. Not that I’d want to rule all, but that within me is this quiet, unparalleled force for good (Heh. I like that!). With a fierce posse. Roar.
7: It’s hour 23. What will you do with your last hour?
Probably look at my to-do list and realize I was foolish to think I could have accomplished everything on it. How do I always wind up doing that? Then go for a walk along the beach or in the woods to regain some perspective. Life is good.
8: How will this 24 hours have changed you?
Carving out time for self-care is so important. I hope I’d come back smiling a little wider, playing a little harder and appreciating life a little more. And with that, my family would no doubt be rolling their eyes that much more at the latest things I’m now giddy about. Such love!
