Weekly Tip: Mammograms and Deodorant

Don’t wear deodorant to your mammogram.

Ever since we were teenagers, we’ve been told to wear deodorant. Why? Because we sweat and smell. Some more than others. What is the one day you actually should not wear deodorant? Mammogram day.

When I spoke with the nice lady over the phone about making my mamo appointment, she directed me to not wear any deodorant, or lotion. I guess it’s so my boob won’t slip off the machine while it’s squeezing and tugging during the scan. Just for funsies, next year maybe I’ll lather up with Wesson Cooking Oil, and give the ol’ x-ray tech a run for her money.

Because of the anti-deodorant thing, you’d think the office would be super smelly. Like sweat and onions. Actually, not at all. I can at least thank women, and human kind for showering the day of their mamo, and not stinking up the joint.
