Remember the good ol days when you meticulously and painstakingly bought gifts for your kids and they adored you for it, and played with the toys all day? Hmm, well remember yesterday when your kids didn’t want to play with any of those toys and instead played with the empty cardboard box?
How about when they discovered the stuffing inside the couch cushions? Yes, that was fun indeed. This happened to me recently.  When I arrived on the scene, I was stopped in my tracks. I didn’t know if I should scream, or cry. I immediately started imagining how I would get all the stuffing back into the cushions. And imagined it to be the worst task of the day.  I talked myself out of the perceived awfulness, and gave myself a quick mommy pep talk about how there’s worse things going on in the world
besides cushion stuffing clean up. Instead, I grabbed my camera, and instructed my kids to simply “play”,
It was fun and funny and they were cute and jazzed about the new fun they were having.
After a few minutes, I explained to them that the cushion stuffing belonged inside the cushions and they helped sock it away where it belonged.
