Sometimes breastfeeding goes perfectly – the baby latches immediately, your supply is great and your child self-weans at just the right time.  For those three people that it happened to, good for you!

For those that struggled all through breastfeeding, or weren’t ever able to make it work, our deepest sympathy.  For the rest of us, while breastfeeding may have been great, there was probably struggle involved at some point.   The reason it ends is very personal, but may have involved one of these reasons:

5. You had a second honeymoon planned with your husband in Cancun.

4. You tried the nursing tea and all it did was make you smell like damp weeds.

3. Your nipples started to look like salami.

2. Your child indicated they wanted to be fed by pointing at your chest and saying, “gimme some of that flava!”

1. You were considering having another child (although may have secretly wanted to stop being an on-demand vending machine and actually have control of your own body again).
