Earlier this week I hinted about another project we’re working on at Bleeping Motherhood and it is called, We Are Real Moms.

It is a reflection of all of us – we all have many stories, some known or unknown about how this journey changes our lives, our perspectives and our hearts.  We’ve started to document them.  We’re gathering these stories to show the intimate, relatable and emotional accounts of the different parts of motherhood.

Our first one to bring to the Bleeping Motherhood audience is about our own Bleeping Audrey’s birth stories.  You’ll see one more from us next week in the “poignant” category, then as we find more stories that fit the humor realm of Bleeping Motherhood, we’ll be sure to share them with you all.  We hope you enjoy this new project and check us out on facebook or on our site, wearerealmoms.com

And now – a repost from We Are Real Moms (originally posted here)

“My husband was working during the day and then going to work on our house rebuild from Hurricane Sandy at night. I was 5 days overdue, and scheduled for induction the next morning. He got home to our rental house at 9:30 at night exhausted and starving and made himself a plate of leftovers. About 10 minutes later, I went into labor. My doctor told me that 2nd deliveries tend to go quicker. And it did. My firstborn took about 8 hours from onset of labor to her birth. This little guy was here just shy of 5 hours. I think I pushed for about 30 minutes. It was intense. The epidural helped, but that ring of fire is no joke. I remember being petrified of having to give birth again. But then after, you realize, you’d do it again in a heartbeat.”
